Green Belt Projects
Green belt and restoration work uses bags differently from every other sector: often the bag is placed and stays there. Erosion control, bank stabilisation and check structures make the bag part of the installation.
A different use of the same product
Nearly everything else we supply is a container: material goes in, material comes out, the bag is done. Green belt and restoration work inverts that. The filled bag is placed and becomes part of the structure — a check dam, a bank revetment, a sediment barrier.
That changes the specification completely. There is no discharge design, because it never discharges. Instead the bottom is closed, the loops have to survive repeated lifting at full weight, and the fabric has to last in place.
Be realistic about service life
Polypropylene degrades under sustained UV exposure. A bag placed in the open has a service life, not a permanent one, and UV treatment extends that considerably without making it indefinite.
For temporary and semi-permanent installations that is usually exactly right. For anything intended to be permanent, plan for replacement or specify a different solution — we will tell you which situation you are in.
